Windy day on the Golf Course. He's here !

Howling a gale at Troon all day. Hard to film wind but this very short clip gives an idea.
So glad I made the decision to get out of Portpatrick (yesterday) while I could. With a SW gale forcing the seas directly into the narrow harbour entrance Alexandra Louise would not have fared well against the harsh concrete walls. I dread to think what could have happened.

Today, I had another tidy up in preparation for my son, jetting in for a bit of golfing and yachting. I sent him a text to ask whether he really needed to bring a full set of clubs. According to his mum, he has made a concession and removed his 6 iron. Every little helps, I suppose.

Had a lovely, scenic train ride to Glasgow International to pick him up. The trip included getting a bus from a place called Paisley and, while in the queue, a couple of blokes started having a proper fight. Luckily the bus turned up and that was that. Great to see Sam at the airport. Came through with a massive, custom ordered, wheels bag that rattled, like a bag of golf clubs with very few clothes in. Hope he doesn't get wet cos he'll be stuffed. Anyway, we got back to Troon in time for 18 holes and Sams mini break is off to a flyer. Great to catch up on his news whilst walking around. Sam chose the food from Tesco Express so garlic brad and pizza for tea. Seems odd having someone else on board; he seems 'everywhere', already.

Planning on a trip over to the Isle of Arron as soon as this wind dies down. A short hop of 14 miles and hope to anchor off of Holy Isle, weather permitting. Really hope weather improves as my plan has always been to take a slow route up to the Caledonian Canal via these picturesque islands.10 pm  and, I kid you not, the wind is truly 'whistling' up here.
